Paxos CEO Charles Cascarilla spoke about the special role of stablecoins in the global economy and called on candidates for the US presidency to pay attention to this.

Charles Cascarilla wrote in an open letter to Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, saying that the future presidential administration must secure the leadership of the United States and the dollar in the global financial industry.

“The next administration will determine whether America can lead or lose that leadership in the global financial industry. We risk becoming a rusty appendage of a financial services market where the country’s prosperity and the jobs of its citizens are at stake,” Cascarilla wrote.

According to him, stablecoins can become the most important tool for updating the US government payment system. Like dollars digitized using the blockchain, stablecoins have the potential to revolutionize global monetary circulation. This will allow the United States to actively participate in the global economy and ensure dollar dominance for many years to come.

“As the CEO and co-founder of one of the leading firms in tokenization and blockchain infrastructure, I encourage you to implement a more favorable and defined regulatory environment for stablecoins and other digital assets. This is how we will ensure that America remains the largest and most innovative economy in the world,” Cascarilla said.

Earlier it became known that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) stopped investigating the case of trading in registered securities against the issuer of stablecoins Paxos and does not intend to require enforcement action.
