Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, while discussing with subscribers on Twitter, criticized the Ethereum Classic network, calling it “a useless blockchain that does not realize its full potential.”
One user chided Charles Hoskinson for suggesting a 20% tax on ETC miners to milk the network. Hoskinson didn’t like this comment and reacted quite harshly to it. The creator of Cardano wrote that the so-called “tax” is a sustainable development fund, not a fee from miners.
Hoskinson added that he is frustrated with the Ethereum Classic network as it is not utilizing its full potential. According to Hoskinson, Ethereum Classic is a dead project with no clear purpose for existence.
I love how a sustainable development fund turns into a miner tax. ETC still gives me sadness for what could have been. It’s a dead project with no purpose or real compelling argument to exist outside of spite. https://t.co/JxUGyLYDTu

However, not all members of the cryptocurrency community were disappointed in Ethereum Classic. For example, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin believes that this blockchain is great for supporters of the Proof-of-Work (PoW) algorithm. According to him, this network can be used by miners who do not support the transition of Ethereum to Proof-of-Stake (PoS).
Hoskinson is often sensitive to negative comments about himself or the Cardano project. He recently made fun of the Solana blockchain by sending developers a link to a YouTube video showing how to repair old Nintendo game consoles. The creator of Cardano quipped that this would help Solana deal with frequent network outages.
Hoskinson recently revealed that the long-awaited Vasil update, which aims to increase Cardano’s throughput, will go live on September 22nd.
