Charles Hoskinson shared with subscribers on the X social network a recording of a chat in which he interacted with pseudo-Anatoly Yakovenko. Hoskinson reported that the conversation began with an offer from an ephemeral individual to visit a certain website and receive an allegedly due reward in the amount of 20% of the balance of the TrueUSD wallet.
After several leading questions, for example, why it is impossible to receive rewards directly through the crypto wallet service, Hoskinson realized that they were trying to deceive him, but decided to play along with the scammer.

As follows from the screenshots of the dialogue attached to Hoskinson’s tweet, the scammer offered to go to the site, select the open dispute tab and demand payment of a reward. At the same time, to confirm his identity, he asked to enter the private key of the crypto wallet.
Hoskinson noted that, judging by the responses and the argumentation used, the qualifications of the pseudo-Anatoly Yakovenko were low, and the scam was designed for inexperienced victims who were superficially familiar with the crypto industry. At the same time, Hoskinson was unpleasantly surprised that the fake Anatoly's account used for chatting was verified by the messenger, which added a layer of legitimacy to the scammer for the fictitious identity.
Let us recall that last year, against the backdrop of news about the launch of the SpaceX space rocket, attackers were able to carry out a fake distribution of cryptocurrency, which was accompanied by video broadcasts on YouTube with a deepfake of Elon Musk.
