Professor of international relations Vinicius Rodrigues Vieira analyzed, in an interview with CNN this Monday (12), the challenges that Charles III must face at the beginning of his reign.
“Charles III has two shadows around him: William, his son, with 66% popularity, and Elizabeth II, who died with 75% popularity.”
To increase his charisma, “Charles III needs to get closer to people”, according to the expert.
“This popularity problem could worsen in a context of serious economic crisis. Monarchy skeptics can take advantage of this moment to advance the republican agenda,” he highlighted.
In the opinion of the professor, the prime minister of the United Kingdom, Liz Truss, also needs to “present a speech that sensitizes the population”, as the prime minister faces skepticism from her own party.
