Charles Michel: The agreement on grain exports from Ukraine should be implemented immediately

The president of the European Council, Charles Michel, sees positively the signing by Moscow and Kyiv of an agreement to lift the blockade of Ukrainian Black Sea ports for the resumption of grain exportsrequesting its immediate implementation.

Speaking at the Summit of First Ladies and First Gentlemen on the subject of UkraineThe Charles Michel he referred to his visit to Odessa, noting that millions of tons of grain are stuck in containers and ships because of the Russian blockade of the Black Sea, but also because of Russian tanks, bombs and mines that prevent Ukraine from planting, and to proceed with the harvest.

“We must expose Russia’s lies about the causes of the global food crisis” underlined the president of the European Council, stating that “Russia’s war is solely responsible for this crisis”. He also clarified that the EU has not imposed sanctions on the agricultural sector in Russia.

In addition, he noted that those responsible for crimes and violations of human rights will be held accountable.
