Crypto exchange Coinbase tested ChatGPT as a token verification tool before a possible listing and compared the results with the standard verification procedure. IN report The exchange says that ChatGPT has not reached the required level of accuracy to be integrated into the asset analysis process, but has shown enough potential that Coinbase will continue to explore. RBC Crypto.
The exchange team compared 20 verification results from ChatGPT with their standard verification. In 12 cases they coincided. Of the remaining 8 results, in 5 cases the bot incorrectly labeled a high-risk asset as a low-risk one. The report notes that this is a very poor result, as underestimating risk is far more harmful than overestimating it.
During the experiment, it turned out that ChatGPT is not able to “understand” that it does not have enough data to perform a reliable analysis, and this leads to gaps in the assessment, since additional factors go unnoticed.
The test also showed that the bot can be inconsistent: when it was asked the same question several times, it did not always give the same answer.
As a result, the exchange team came to the conclusion that the bot is not yet suitable as a tool for a full asset verification. But Coinbase expects that its accuracy can be improved, and to start with, engineers can use ChatGPT to perform additional verification checks to uncover risks that may have been overlooked in standard verification.
