OpenAI has begun testing a “memory” feature for its ChatGPT chatbot that stores information discussed in conversations to improve the user experience.
We're testing ChatGPT's ability to remember things you discuss to make future chats more helpful.
This feature is being rolled out to a small portion of Free and Plus users, and it's easy to turn on or off. https://t.co/1Tv355oa7V pic.twitter.com/BsFinBSTbs

When using a neural network, you can ask it to remember something specific or give it the opportunity to independently select suitable data. ChatGPT's memory will get “better” as you use the tool.
The memory function can be disabled in the settings. In addition, ChatGPT can be asked to forget a certain memory or manually delete it.
As part of testing, access to the innovation will first be given to a limited number of ChatGPT Free and Plus users.
The OpenAI team will also add memory functionality for GPTs extensions. Developers will be able to decide for themselves how to apply the technology. For example, Books GPT will suggest the next book to read, based on preferences and works already read.
Earlier, the media reported that Sam Altman's startup is developing a system of autonomous assistants with AI that can take over control of the user's device to perform certain tasks.
In January, OpenAI released improvements to the turbo versions of GPT-4 and GPT-3.5, and also reduced the subscription price for the tool.
