Mexican actors María Antonieta de las Nieves, 73, and Edgar Vivar, 75, better known as Chiquinha and Seu Barriga, from the series “Chaves” shared a photo of their reunion more than 40 years after the end of the program.
The record was made after the actress' debut in a new play, showing in Mexico. Among the thanks and photos with some of the people who came to honor her was Vivar, which moved many fans of the series including Brazilians.
“We here in Brazil, we love you”, said an internet user . “Seu Barriga and Chiquinha…. Your father has to pay his rent, poor thing”, joked another, remembering the story of “Chaves”. “I grew up seeing [‘Chaves’] every day. Chiquinha, my favorite character”, said another.
The series “Chaves” premiered in 1973 on Mexican TV and was canceled in 1980 . In Brazil, however, it was broadcast until 2020, telling the story of an orphan, Chaves (Roberto Gómez Bolaño), who lived inside a barrel in a village.
