Every sixth (16%) Russian is ready to buy a LADA car. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the insurance company AlfaStrakhovanie among 1345 Russian car owners aged 18 to 60 (80% of men and 20% of women).
22% of motorists consider their relative cheapness to be the main advantage of LADA cars. Another 20% of respondents value domestic cars for inexpensive maintenance and service, and 16% for the opportunity to repair them with their own hands. And only 5% of respondents appreciate LADA cars for their beautiful appearance. Interestingly, 42% of the Russians who took part in the survey have never driven a Zhiguli.
Insurers attribute the growth of interest in domestic cars to the increase in the cost of servicing foreign cars. Only 33% of car owners have not experienced an increase in car costs since the beginning of this year. For 24%, monthly car expenses increased by 10%, and one in ten Russians now spends 30% more on car maintenance than at the beginning of 2022. For 61% of respondents owning a car is up to 10 thousand rubles a month.
By the way, in addition to LADA, Russians are considering buying cars from Korea, Japan and even France. Thus, 13% of respondents want to buy a KIA car, 12% – Toyota, 11% are interested in Hyundai models, and another 9% are considering Renault models as their next car.
