When Apple removed the headphones and power adapter from the iPhone in 2020, leaving only the Lightning / USB-C cable in the box, Samsung was among the first to troll its American competitor. Then Samsung in social networks stated that its smartphones have everything that users need, including a charger, which the company called the basic thing. However, just a few months later, Samsung repeated for Apple by removing the charger from its flagship Galaxy S21 series. All subsequent Samsung flagships, including foldable devices, are not equipped with a power adapter either. And now, it seems, the same fate awaits the budget devices of the Korean brand.
According to the SamMobile portal, citing European retailers, Samsung has decided to abandon the included power adapter for some budget smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy A13 and Galaxy A23 announced the other day were the first to be “under distribution”. Following them, the Samsung Galaxy M23 with the Galaxy M33 will also lose their complete charging.
Interestingly, Samsung itself has not yet commented on this information. Last time, the Korean company, like Apple, explained its decision by caring for the environment. By ostensibly removing the charger from the box and reducing the size of the box, Samsung is reducing its carbon footprint and e-waste. But many are sure that the main goal pursued by Apple, Samsung and others is to reduce the cost of their smartphones and increase revenues.
