Google has officially announced a new low-cost smartphone in the Pixel A line – Pixel 5a 5G. Compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 4a 5G, the 2021 model has become better and cheaper: the screen diagonal has increased without thickening the bezels, water protection has appeared (for the first time in the budget series), the battery is now even more capacious, and the price has dropped by $ 50.
Pixel 5a 5G is based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G mobile platform. The smartphone also comes with a proprietary Titan M security module for hardware protection. As before, the palette of the case is not diverse and this time it is characterized by only one option – classic black, although it looks more like dark green. However, it is being watered down by a fresh version of the case, which will come in four different colors: black, white, lime and pink. Among other things, the materials have changed: it now uses metal with bio-resin, as in the Pixel 5, so the Pixel 5a 5G is fully waterproof.
The Pixel 5a 5G dual camera features a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens and supports all of Google’s latest AI-powered photographic technologies. The Portrait Light function will help you adjust the light on the face in the frame, Cinematic Pan will ensure smooth video recording. The Night Sight mode also remained with the ability to shoot high-quality astrophotographs in complete darkness.
