With the arrival of a new year, many Brazilians are already starting to plan for travel, leisure and rest dates. In 2022, we will have nine national holidays, in addition to state and local commemorative dates. However, to the sadness of many, this year there will only be one long holiday: Passion of Christ, which will be on April 15th, a Friday.
Two other commemorative dates fall on Sundays: World Labor Day and Christmas. Ash Wednesday (March 2), Independence of Brazil (September 7th) and The Dead (November 2nd) will fall on Wednesdays, making it impossible even to make an amendment with another working day of the week.
At the end of December, the Ministry of Economy also released another five holidays that will be optional points.
