Check out this week’s main premieres in Brazilian cinemas

September promises several novelties in Brazilian cinemas and this week’s premieres range from biographies to fantasy productions.

the brazilian “Peter’s Journey” with Cauã Reymond , arrives this Thursday (1st) to the big screen and portrays the return of Dom Pedro I to Portugal. The feature is directed by Laís Bodanzky (“Like Our Parents” and “The Best Things in the World”).

Another Brazilian debut, “Predestined: Arigó and the Spirit of Dr. Fritz” , also brings a famous personality in the country. The film is about the medium from Minas Gerais, Zé Arigó, played by Danton Mello in the film.

One of the highlights is the production “A Place Far Away From Here” , based on the bestseller of the same name. The book, released in 2019, has sold over 2 million copies and won a film adaptation starring Daisy Edgar-Jones (“Normal People”).

Weeks after “The Beast” premiered, Idris Elba has yet another theatrical release. Alongside Tilda Swinton (“Risk Conduct” and “We Need to Talk About Kevin”), the actor plays a genie in a lamp who tries to convince a woman to make three wishes so he can be free in “Once Upon a Genie” .

Highlights like “No! Don’t Look!”, “After – After the Promise”, “Bullet Train” and more are still showing in theaters.
