Check out which are the most economical hybrid cars in Brazil in 2021

With the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program it is possible to check which are the most efficient 0 km cars, as well as those that pollute less. It is also possible to find out which hybrid vehicles, which combine an internal combustion engine with an electric one, are the most economical in Brazil this year.

The InMetro table ranks the most economical models by energy consumption, measured in MJ/km (megajoule per kilometer), not km/l. Thanks to this, it is possible to place vehicles with combustion, hybrid and electric engines in the same table. This happens because the entity makes an equivalence between the different consumption measures.

Through megajoule, it is possible to compare kWh, in electric, and km/l, in combustion models. For hybrids, the last measure applies. In case of a tie in MJ/km, the tiebreaker is urban consumption.

Among the most efficient models in Brazil with hybrid propulsion, we have separated the ten models available for purchase today as 0 km which are more economical than any 1.0 car. Most use gasoline for the combustion engine, but the Toyota Corolla Cross is flex. To keep the ranking the same for everyone, the consumption figures for gasoline only were considered. A version of each car was also considered, if it offers more than one hybrid configuration.

The list also differentiates the type of electrification of hybrid cars. A conventional hybrid uses a gasoline engine to charge the batteries that power the electrical system. In the case of pluggable hybrids, it is still possible to charge them in an outlet.
