CheckBR Coalition holds 48-hour marathon against electoral disinformation

#CheckBR Seven verification organizations, including Comprova, reissue a 2018 coalition to verify suspicious content about the election on the weekend of the first round. All checks published and republished by organizations will be tagged on social networks with the hashtag #CheckBR, in order to facilitate the search for reliable information about the claim.

Seven fact-checking organizations will meet between the 1st and 2nd of October to fight, in a 48-hour marathon, the main disinformation about the elections. Over the weekend of the first round, these platforms will jointly map social networks and messaging apps in search of large-scale rumors and lies that reach millions of voters as they are deciding their votes.

The coalition, called CheckBR, will have the collaboration of AFP Checamos, Aos Fatos, Boatos.org, Comprova, E-Farsas, Fato ou Fake and Lupa. The objective is that, with the free reproduction of checks between the partners, more Brazilians are reached with verified and reliable information.
