With a focus on people over 50, the course “Don’t be ashamed of groups – Learn to identify rumors on networks” will be launched this Wednesday (30), which will help this audience understand how algorithms work, how to detect scams and conspiracy theories, will teach you how to look for reliable sources and will guide participants on how to talk to friends and family to avoid the spread of false and misleading content.
Launched by Projeto Comprova, a coalition of 40 media outlets, including CNNwho work verifying disinformation, the content is a Portuguese version of the content organized by the Poynter Institute.
The course, which lasts 10 days and will be available to the public for the next 12 months, has journalists Lilian Witte Fibe and Boris Casoy, a commentator for CNN. In the American version, CNN International anchor Christiane Amanpour was the speaker. Applications can be made through the Comprova Project website, or by accessing this link.
