O Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced this Saturday (10) an eclectic and stellar list of new nominees to receive the honor of joining the institution. Names include Cher , Lenny Kravitz , Sinéad O'Connor , Mary J. Blige , Ozzy Osbourne It is Mariah Carey . The official definition of honorees will be announced at the end of April .
The list of nominees also includes Sade, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Jane's Addiction, Oasis, Eric B. & Rakim, Kool & the Gang and A Tribe Called Quest.
Surprisingly, Mariah Carey, Cher, Lenny Kravitz and Ozzy are among the ten nominees who are on the ballot for the first time according to an announcement from ABC Entertainment, during the Television Critics Association's winter press day.
To be eligible for nomination For induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, an individual artist or band must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years before of the year of nomination.
“This remarkable list of inductees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates,” said John Sykes, president of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. “In the true spirit of Rock & Roll, these artists created their own sounds that impacted generations and influenced countless others who followed in their footsteps.”
The official Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2024 induction ceremony will be held in Cleveland , in North American autumn (spring in Brazil). The specific date will be announced later.
The 2024 ceremony will be broadcast live in the United States on Disney+, with a special airing on ABC at a later date.
