Chernobyl: “Nuclear power plant workers abducted by Russians”, says Kyiv

Until 170 employees of nuclear power plant of Chernobyl were abducted and forcibly transferred to Russia, according to a complaint from the Ukrainian authorities.

The Ukrainian Minister of the Interior Dennis Monastirskispecifically, told CNN today that the Russians held hostages the members of the staff of the nuclear power plant, in the bomb shelter, for almost a month.

This was followed by forced transfer them while were stolen and whatever personal valuables they possessed, he added.

It has not existed so far reaction for these allegations by the Russians.

Besides, CNN reported on high levels of radioactivity in the so-called “Red Forest”, the radioactive exclusion zone near the Chernobyl plant.

According to the dpa agency, the Ukrainian authorities had already announced last week that the Russian forces had taken the hostages with them, after leaving the Chernobyl nuclear power plantwhich they occupied at the beginning invasion of Ukraine on February 24th.
