Experts from the Avtostat agency calculated that in January 2022, Russians bought 7.9 thousand new cars of Chinese brands, which is 9.7% of the total market.
At the same time, just a year ago, in January 2021, the share of new Chinese cars in the domestic market was 4.8%, and at the end of last year it increased to 7.5%.

The source notes that while the entire new car market continues to show a decline in sales, Chinese brands are constantly increasing their share. In January of this year, Chery occupied 3.3% of the Russian market, and a year ago this figure for the company was 1.8%. Haval’s share increased from 1.5% last year to 3.1% in January this year.
The third place in the ranking of the most popular Chinese brands is occupied by Geely with a result of 2.1% (was 0.9%). The success of the premium brand Chery Exeed is also noted, the share of which increased from 0.1% to 0.5%.
