Chery Gene has a predominantly rounded shape, unusual headlights in the form of thin LED strips, large aerodynamic elements and rear doors that open in the opposite direction. Lighting adapts to the mode of operation of the car’s driving electronics. The trunk lid gives access to the platform on which two drones are fixed, they can take off directly from there. Nearby is an electric skateboard. The picture broadcast by drones is automatically transmitted to a 27-inch display or virtual reality glasses. In terms of dimensions, the concept car is 5 meters long, 2 meters wide and 1.75 meters high. In general, this is a fairly massive crossover.
Apparently, Chery Gene uses an electric motor that is powered by a solar panel and offers two driving modes: manual and autonomous. In the first version, the steering wheel is close to the driver, and the seat provides a comfortable fit. In the second version, the steering wheel slides into the front panel, and the driver’s seat goes into a horizontal position.
Chery also demonstrated a modular platform for electric vehicles of different classes and power plants of different types. It is expected that the power of the electric motors of the first production cars on this platform will reach 544 hp. The company also plans to produce new batteries for electric vehicles with a range of more than 700 km by 2023, and with a range of more than 1,000 km by 2025.
