Chery plans to expand the range of cars sold in Russia with electric vehicles in the next couple of years.
At the moment, the Chinese manufacturer is preparing the necessary package of technical documentation for certification, conducting marketing surveys and preparing for testing electric vehicles in the conditions of Russian roads and climate.
In China, Chery produces seven current models: Little Ant (EQ1), Ant, Tiggo E (Tiggo 4), Arrizo E (Arrizo 5), Tiggo3xe (Tiggo 2), eQ and eQ2. In April 2021, the company introduced two electric vehicles to its home market: EQZ and EQX. The latter has a complete self-driving system.

In Russia, the front-wheel drive crossovers Chery Tiggo 4, Tiggo 7 Pro, Tiggo 8 and Tiggo 8 Pro, as well as the all-wheel drive Cheryexeed TXL, are officially sold, and the company’s sales have grown significantly over the past year. The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro model is especially popular. According to the Association of European Businesses (AEB), in May 2021 Chery sold almost 3 thousand cars in Russia, ranking 11th.
The Chery Tiggo 8 Plus PHEV hybrid with a consumption of 1.3 liters per 100 km and acceleration to “hundreds” in less than 5 seconds is released in September, initially in China.
