Chery shared plans for engines for 30 years: there are electric, hybrids and internal combustion engines

The Chinese holding Chery spoke about plans for the development of automotive technology for the next 30 years. The company is expanding its All-Domain Power Architecture 4.0 program, in accordance with which it intends to continue to develop all types of power plants: electric, hybrid and hydrogen, as well as gasoline. In addition, Chery wants to introduce cars powered by new energy sources to foreign markets.

The company is currently testing three fourth-generation ACTECO TGDI gasoline engines, and the design and testing of the fifth generation engine should be completed by the end of the second quarter of 2023. It is expected that the first production car with a new power plant will be released in 2024. It will receive a 1.5-liter turbocharged GDI engine and will use the i-HEC 4.0 smart combustion system, low pressure EGR technology, continuous friction reduction, and turbocharging technology with a thermal efficiency of 43.9%.

Chery plans to develop hybrid engine development, optimize existing hybrid systems and create new engines for use in small-sized models. The company will also continue to build electric motors and hydrogen-powered plants. In 2017, Chery released the first serial product, the compact Chery QE1, and in 2019, it showed hydrogen power plants with a capacity of 30 kW, which drove more than 700 km.
