Chery has published several images of the new crossover, which should be the first car announced at the beginning of the year “era 4.0”. The latter includes new engines and transmissions under the generic Kunpeng Power designation, including hybrid systems, as well as the Hydrogen Power platform for hydrogen models.
Chinese media reports that the car should be called Chery XC, with the number T190 visible in one of the images (possibly the internal model number of the car). The presentation of the car is expected to take place at Chery XC in the second half of this year, with sales starting in 2022.
The car will receive new daytime running lights, which are located above the main headlight unit. In addition, Chery XC is equipped with a new-shaped grille. In the profile, there is a distant resemblance to the already released Chery Tiggo 7 Pro.
In China, Chery plans to launch the Tiggo 8 Plus PHEV plug-in hybrid this year with a new 2.0 TGDI turbo petrol engine and all-wheel drive system. The power of such an installation will be 261 hp, and the torque will reach 400 Nm.
Perhaps Chery XC will receive such an engine. It is also already known that this model is intended not only for China, but also for the world market.
