Chiara Ferragni: “I too was a victim of psychological violence”

«I have always been close to the cause, because unfortunately violence in women’s lives is often a constant presence. I myself have been a victim of psychological violence in some of my relationships before Federico». Chiara Ferragni has decided to pay all the compensation from her participation as co-host in Sanremo all’DiRe associationwhich every year, on the national territory, helps over 20 thousand women with 106 reception centers against violence.

«I met this reality months ago. The reception operators of To say they are the heroines who, throughout Italy, work every day to help women and associations».

Not only physical and psychological violence but also economic. «For me, economic independence has always been a fundamental value», explains Chiara Ferragni, «I grew up with the idea of being financially independent from a man to realize my ideas. Cremona (his hometown, ed) was full of women and wives who suffered from economic violence blocked by fear. It is not easy to realize, it is justified by saying that a man is just jealous or possessive. Recognizing the signs of violence is essential. I only started hearing about the psychological one a couple of years ago and realized what it meant. I’ve realized that I’ve been through it in several relationships, sometimes I was very young, sometimes I wasn’t. I’m also talking about stories shortly before Federico’s».

Chiara Ferragni co-host in Sanremo

«I agreed to be co-host just because I could bring important issues in front of a transgenerational audience. Even through the stylistic choices of fashion, I will try to send a message» says the entrepreneur.

The assignment arrived in March last year, when Amadeus wrote a message to Chiara Ferragni which said: «This is the last time I’ll ask you, if you feel ready I would like you». «He has asked me since his first management. It wasn’t snobbery, I didn’t feel ready. Amadeus was kind, open and welcoming to what I wanted to bring to the stage. I’m not a host, I’m going to be super excited to be on that stage. I don’t want to have other roles, but I want to bring myself and this project to women» says the entrepreneur at Palazzo Parigi in Milan. «They are all agitated, this consoles me. I went in October to see the Ariston for the first time. You arrive and perceive the history of the Italian song».

Despite her participation in the next festival, a television career doesn’t seem to be in Chiara Ferragni’s plans: «It’s really an opportunity unrelated to the rest, a new challenge. I’ve always been asked to do television, but it didn’t feel like my thing. It’s a challenge because it’s an important stage, but continuing is not in my future plans”

The digital entrepreneur will host only two evenings during the week of the Festival: «I didn’t feel like participating in all of them, it would have been too much for me. I’m reassuring myself thinking that I have to bring myself on that stage, not become a presenter ».
