The Chicago Bulls will release a limited collection of non-fungible tokens called The Aurochs on the Coinbase NFT platform. Part of the proceeds from the sale of NFTs will go to charity.
The Chicago Bulls has announced the creation of a limited edition NFT collection from the professional sports team of the same name, which will be launched on the Coinbase NFT marketplace. The Aurochs collection will consist of 23 NFTs designed by the world’s leading digital artists.
“To reimagine the iconic Chicago Bulls logo, which has remained unchanged since 1966, we have formed a collaboration of 23 of Web3’s most creative artists to create the NFT Collection,” the basketball club said in a statement.
One of the most accomplished artists working on The Aurochs is former Google creative director Julian Gilliam, better known as LOGIK.
A portion of the proceeds from the NFT sale will benefit After School Matters, a Chicago-based non-profit organization that provides high school students with free after-school and summer programs in the arts, communications, leadership, sports, and STEM. The organization was chosen by a vote of artists participating in the project.
The beginning of September set a record for the number of NFTs issued on the Solana network. In one day, 312,000 collectible tokens were issued, which is five times more than the average number of previously created NFTs.
