The live-action adaptation “Chico Bento and the Wonderful Goiabeira” got an official trailer this Tuesday (8). Starring child actor and influencer Isaac Amendoim, 11, the film will portray the character of Turma da Mônica.
The adaptation of Mauricio de Sousa’s comics hits theaters on January 9, 2025.
The film is directed by Fernando Fraiha, responsible for “Turma da Mônica: Lições”.
In addition to the protagonist, the production features Anna Júlia Dias as Rosinha, Pedro Dantas as Zé Lelé, Lorena Oliveira as Tábata, Davi Okabe as Hiro, Guilherme Tavares as Zé da Roça and Luis Lobianco as Nhô Lau, Augusto Madeira as Dotô Agripino, Enzo Henrique as Genesinho and Débora Falabella as teacher Marocas.
Despite not being part of the chronological order of the films that cover the Turma da Mônica classic, the new production follows the character Chico Bento as a child.
Throughout the story, construction on Nhô Lau’s land threatens to knock down his guava tree and a mobilization begins to prevent this from happening.
