A 7 -year -old died after eating an Easter egg. The case occurred in Imperatriz, a city located in Maranhão. The Civil Police are still investigating the cause of death, but there is suspected poisoning.
The boy’s mother and sister are hospitalized. According to the State Department of Public Security (SSP), a 36 -year -old woman was arrested as suspected for the crime. She is ex-girlfriend of the current companion of one of the victims and was captured by the team of the Santa Inês Regional Police Station on a disturbance bus, in the city of Santa Inês, where she lives.
The police station adopted initial measures to determine the facts. An inquiry was established by the Empress Homicide Police Station, which hears witnesses to clarify the case.
Also according to the SSP, the victim’s body underwent necropsy examination at the Imperatriz Legal Medical Institute. The Civil Police are awaiting the expert report to confirm the cause of death.
In addition, the police requested the Institute of Criminalistics of Imperatriz (ICRIM) the collection of material for laboratory analysis of victims who remain hospitalized
