There are those who dream of flying a plane, those who would like to be an astronaut, those who imagine themselves as a singer, footballer or YouTuber. There are those who want to become a teacher, some a doctor and some a scientist. When they dream big, children then look to a world without hatred or war, more respectful of the environment and also more equitable. However, when they think about the biggest dream for their life, they express the desire to travel more, have many friends and spend more time with family.
Research traces this photograph Children’s dreams for their futureconducted by AstraRicerche for Star Loafon a sample of 801 young people between 7 and 14 years old. It shows that most of the desires are focused on a job that makes you feel satisfied (52%), followed by creating a happy family (47.3%), from stay healthy throughout your life (44.6%) and the ambition of help improve the world (32.8%).
The survey is connected to the new educational project promoted by Pan di Stelle and aimed at schools Dream and believe to the starsthrough which the Barilla Group’s love brand – chosen by around 7 million Italian families – wants to instill confidence in very young people regarding their dreams and encourage them to pursue them. School, after all, is the fulcrum of the development of children and young people, and in this sense it has a fundamental role: today we no longer teach only “knowledge” and “know-how” but also “knowing how to be”.
The first chest of dreams opens in Serradifalco
The first step of the educational project started from Sicily. To be precise, from Serradifalco, in the province of Caltanissetta, in the Giuseppe Verga primary school, with an inspirational mural created by the artist Julius Rosk and the inauguration of the first «Classroom of Dreams», space designed to offer students a stimulating environment, books And colorswhere they can imagine, confront And cultivate your passions.
An internationally renowned Sicilian street artist, Rosk – born in 1988 – has created works that today color the walls of cities such as Palermo – where the famous project portraying Falcone and Borsellino stands out – Miami, Rio de Janeiro, Paris and New York.
He took his first artistic steps in this school, in Serradifalco, and right here, on the occasion of the inauguration of his mural-poster that symbolizes the school as a place of creativity and hopemet today’s students to tell how he turned his dream into reality. «I have been creating murals since 2002 and since I was a child I have been a dreamer, a visionary», says the street artist whose real name is Giulio Gebbia. «With my passion and my art I managed to sow in land that is little cultivated and this gave me the opportunity to emerge. We all know that in a remote town in the center of Sicily it was a huge challenge, but I was really stubborn, I never gave up. Why even if they are born in a small community in the center of Sicily, dreams can come true».
The street artist Giulio Gebbia, aka Giulio Rosk
In the mural created on the facade of the elementary school, Julius Rosk he painted four kids looking at a star, a symbol of dreams. «A big, nearby star, because dreams can really be touched with a finger», he explains. Each boy is depicted with an object that represents his talent: the guitar, the skate and «there is also a mini-me with the spray can, because I see myself when as a child I had this dream and I too looked at this star that in I tried to reach out somehow.”
Appointment with three new «Dreamers»
But this is only the beginning. Why the educational project Dream and believe to the stars unfolds on a traveling tour of the Italian elementary schools that three other Dreamers attended as children and where, exactly as Giulio Rosk did, they will return to share their inspiring life experience and inaugurate three new Classrooms of Dreams.
The next meeting will be on January 21st in Travedona Monate (Va) with Clarasinger and actress, winner of Sanremo Giovani 2023; on February 4th it will be the turn of Bagni di Lucca (Lu) with the tennis player Jasmine PaoliniOlympic doubles gold medalist and Slam finalist in 2024; finally, on February 20th, an appointment in Almese (To) with Linda Raimondograduated in Physics and face of scientific dissemination on Rai Ragazzi.
