The Gaza Strip is facing anthropogenic drought as its water supply system collapses, UNICEF warned today. “Children will begin to die of thirst (…) Only 40% of drinking water production plants still operate,” UNICEF spokesman James Elder said, speaking to reporters in Geneva. “We are well below the limit of emergency in drinking water for people in Gaza,” he added.
