Children’s Day: 75% of people look for gifts on social networks, says survey

About 75% of consumers use social networks as the main search engine to give gifts to children on October 12, Children’s Day. The information is from a survey by Locaweb Company in partnership with the startup Opinion Box, sent this Friday (7th) exclusively to CNN Brazil .

Among the most popular social networks, Instagram is the main platform for research, used by 70% of consumers. Google Shopping and Facebook appear in sequence with 55% and 53%, respectively. Youtube (46%) and WhatsApp (36%) complete the picture.

The preference for networks is mainly due to the possibility of monitoring the evaluation of other customers, according to the survey. They also make it easier for consumers to check information so that consumers are sure of the safety of the purchase and do not fall for scams, in addition to serving as a tool for price comparison.

Among those who actually choose to shop through social networks, 57% do so through Instagram — a number that jumps to 62% if only the female audience is considered — and 46%, through Google Shopping.

For the study, 1083 Brazilians were interviewed — men and women over 16 years old, from all regions and social classes. Audience profile: 51% female 49% male.
