THE Children’s Day is celebrated this Saturday (12), and celebrities got into the spirit of the date and filled social media with childhood photos .

The commemorative date, in addition to coinciding with the Our Lady of Aparecida, patron saint of Brazil has a very curious and commercial story behind it.
The idea of creating a specific day to honor children emerged 100 years ago, in the 1920s, when Brazil hosted the 3rd South American Children’s Congress on October 12, 1923.
On that occasion, federal deputy Galdino do Valle Filho presented a bill that established the date as Children’s Day. The proposal was sanctioned by then president Artur Bernardes, and Brazil was one of the first countries to officially adopt this celebration.
However, the date remained dormant for several years, without major celebrations . It was only in the 1960s that Children’s Day began to gain strength and became popular thanks to a marketing strategy .
