A 5.9 magnitude earthquake shook the region Valparaiso, in the central Chile, said the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).
The epicenter was reported below the ground, however; no tsunami alert was issued.
The quake struck after midnight in its central zone Chile.
The quake struck around 00.17 on Wednesday and, according to its first report National Seismological Center, had a size of 5.9 Richter.
The epicenter was reported 49.54 km east of Los Andes and its subcenter at a depth of 112.5 km.
