A famous chimpanzee, known for his ability to use tools, grabbed a baby girl from her mother’s arms and took her into the forest, where he killed her and removed her organs. Devastated mother Seny Zogba was working in a field in Guinea’s Bossou region when a chimpanzee bit her and stole her eight-month-old daughter, Yoh Hélène. The girl’s mutilated body was found 3km away from the Nimba Mountains nature reserve and witnesses claim the child had had her organs removed. There are fears the chimpanzee may have used tools to mutilate the child. Lead researcher Gen Yamakoshi told The Times that the gruesome killing was because the chimpanzees were “no longer afraid of humans”.
