China: 1,895 new cases of coronavirus, authorities announced

China’s health authorities announced today 1,895 new cases of coronavirus for the previous 24 hours, of which 382 with symptoms of the disease Covid-19 and 1,513 asymptomatic.

In comparison, one day earlier 1,985 new cases were recorded – 427 with symptoms of Covid-19 and 1,558 asymptomatic.

No new infections were detected in Beijing, while four new cases were confirmed in the financial center of Shanghai, including one with symptoms of the Covid-19 disease.

In the popular resort of Sanya on Hainan Island, which is facing an outbreak of infections, from August 1 until yesterday Monday, 13,940 cases have been confirmed, of which 5,805 have symptoms of the Covid-19 disease and 8,135 are asymptomatic.

To date, mainland China has officially recorded 240,233 cases.

No new deaths from complications of Covid-19 were reported, bringing the total number of victims of the pandemic to 5,226, a tally that experts consider to be an underestimate.
