Available data show that Chinese vaccines lag behind other vaccines, including Pfizer and Moderna, in terms of efficacy, but require less rigorous temperature control during storage.
The vaccines available now “do not have very high levels of protection,” Gao Fu, director of the China Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, told a conference in the Chinese city of Chengdu yesterday.
“Vaccination using vaccines from different technical lines is being considered,” he said.
