For the first time in four months, industrial activity in China expanded as authorities ended the lockdown in Shanghai, although growth was lower than analysts estimate.
Figures for the official manufacturing PMI rose to 50.2 points in June from 49.6 points in May, marking the first expansion since February, according to NBS.
Analysts, however, spoke of growth at 50.5 points.
Also, in a separate announcement it is announced that the services PMI recorded the largest increase in the last 13 months.
Specifically, the index in June stood at 54.7 points from 47.8 points in May.
The composite PMI (services and processing) stood at 54.1 points compared to 48.4 points in May.
