A Chinese Customs spokesman said on Friday that “foreign trade continues to face many challenges and difficulties this year“.
“The fundamentals of long-term improvement remain unchanged, with the economy as a whole expected to rebound this year“added the spokesperson.
The Chinese Customs spokesman said: “In 2022, China’s trade with Russia reached 1.28 trillion yuan, a new high“.
The comments come after China Customs reported trade balance data for 2022, showing that the country’s exports increased by 10.5% in yuan terms in 2022 compared to the previous year, while imports grew by 4.3% in the same period.
Meanwhile, China’s trade balance for January to December expanded by +5.87 trillion yuan. For the first time, China’s trade volume in 2022 exceeded 40 trillion yuan.
