China exports increase by 7.2% year -on -year in June, imports grow by 2.3% year -on -year

The Commercial Balance of China for June, in terms of Chinese Yuan (CNY), stood at 585,960 million CNY, reducing from the previous figure of 743,560 million CNY.

China exports increased by 7.2% year -on -year in June compared to 6.3% in April. The imports of the country grew by 2.3% year -on -year in the same period compared to -2.1% recorded above.

In terms of US dollarChina’s commercial surplus expanded more than expected in June.

The commercial balance stood at +114.77b in front of +109b expected and +103.22b above.

Exports (interannuals): 5.8% vs. 5% expected and 4.8% previous.

Imports (interannuals): 1.1% vs. 1.3% expected and -3.4% previous.

A Chinese customs spokesman said that “exports of the country will continue to advance in the next stage despite the challenges.” He also added that “trade between the United States and China has recently shown signs of recovery.”

Market reaction

At the time of writing, the pair AUD/USD 0.26% is quoted down on the day, operating at 0.6563.
