China: Exports suffer a sharp decline in March

China's March trade balance, in Chinese yuan, stood at CNY 415.86 billion, higher than the previous figure of CNY 281.97 billion.

Exports fell 3.8% annually in March, compared to 10.6% in February. Imports increased 2% annually in the same period, compared to -3.9% previously.

In American dollarChina's trade surplus narrowed in March.

The trade balance stood at +58.55 billion, compared to the +70.2 billion expected and the previous +125.16 billion.

Exports (annual): -7.5% compared to -3.0% expected and 7.1% previously.

Imports (annual): -1.9% vs. 1.2% forecast and 3.5% previously.
