China has limited the power of wireless charging at 50W: Xiaomi will not be able to release its 120W wireless charger

At the end of May, Xiaomi introduced 120W wireless charging, which allows you to charge a smartphone with a 4000 mAh battery in 15 minutes.

However, it is now reported that the “Interim Management Regulation for Wireless Charging Equipment” was published on the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China earlier this year, which sets the maximum capacity of wireless charging equipment sold in the country at 50 watts.

The source adds that this will streamline the use of radio frequency spectrum resources and avoid harmful interference to various government radio services. It is also reported that too high wireless charging power can pose a threat to the safety of aviation, shipping, astronomical observations, and so on.

The point of view is also expressed according to which the so-called ultra-high charging power (in this case 120 W) is the peak power, and under real conditions it cannot be maintained at this value for a long time.
