China leads the way: Urine “examination” in public toilets at minimal cost

China has been pioneering public toilet use for years. A look at social media will show you great aesthetic public toilets that you are “ashamed” to use. Cleanliness is undeniable but now comes something even more innovative. Some public toilets in China have high-tech “health check” urinals where citizens can have their urine analyzed for less than $3. As the New York Post reports, futuristic urinals have begun appearing in public men's restrooms in major Chinese cities such as Beijing and Shanghai, and can quickly and accurately analyze urine on the spot. Recently, documentary filmmaker Christian Petersen-Clausen posted a thread on X that went viral, writing: “A private company offers the possibility of urine analysis. Of course I tried it.” “The whole process is as easy as you think. I paid via WeChat and before I even got off the escalator I had the results,” Petersen-Clausen wrote along with photos of the high-tech machine. […]
