China: One breath away from securing certification of the C919 passenger aircraft

Very close to securing certification is the Chinese passenger car aircraft C919, which aspires to compete with the Boeing 737 MAX and Airbus A320neo, as announced by the aeronautical company COMAC, the phase of test flights has been completed.

According to a post by the Chinese aerospace company on social media, test flights completed with the six aircraft it used, as the program enters the final stage to secure certification from the Civil Aviation Service of Chinawhich is required for commercial activities.

This development marks a milestone in China’s ambitions to spread its wings in the aerospace industry.

The airline that will be the first to acquire the aircraft is state-owned China Eastern Airlines, which ordered five in March 2021. According to the Chanjiang Daily, the first C919 aircraft is expected to be delivered to China Eastern Airilines in August.
