China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said on Tuesday that it will raise gasoline and diesel prices by 250 yuan and 240 yuan, respectively.
According to an official statement, the changes follow the recent changes in oil prices on the international market and “according to the current mechanism for the formation of the price of refined oil”.
The Commission also points out that companies such as PetroChina, Sinopec and CNOOC must organize production and transport to ensure a “stable supply in the market and strict implementation of the national price policy”.
On the last December 19th, the NDRC had announced a reduction in the price of commodities, also in response to changes in oil prices in the international market”.
The reduction had been 480 yuan per ton of gasoline and 460 yuan per ton of diesel.
