China: Relaxation of restrictions on international flights

China’s health authorities announced today 868 new cases of coronavirus for the previous 24 hours, of which 390 with symptoms of the disease Covid-19 and 478 asymptomatic.

In comparison, one day earlier 704 new cases were recorded – 361 with symptoms of Covid-19 and 343 asymptomatic.

A new case has been confirmed in Beijing, involving a patient with symptoms of Covid-19. No new infections were recorded in Shanghai and Shenzhen.

In the popular resort of Sania, located on the island of Hainan, a lockdown was imposed yesterday Saturday, as 828 cases of coronavirus have been detected in the last week, of which 615 have symptoms of the Covid-19 disease and 213 are asymptomatic.

To date, mainland China has officially recorded 230,886 cases. No new deaths from complications of Covid-19 were reported, bringing the total number of victims of the pandemic to 5,226, a tally that experts consider to be an underestimate.

Relaxation of restrictions on international flights

Chinese authorities have shortened the period of suspension of inbound flights from abroad when it is found that patients with Covid-19 were on board.

The aviation safety authority announced today that inbound flights from overseas countries where a case of coronavirus is detected will be suspended for one week if 4% of passengers test positive and for two weeks if 8% of passengers test positive.
