China urges moderation from ‘all sides’ after North Korea’s missile tests

China has urged “all sides” to exercise restraint on North Korea’s long-range missile tests, the foreign ministry said on Friday.

“We express concern about the current situation,” said ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin, when asked about testing at a briefing diary.

On Thursday, North Korea fired a Hwasong-17, a massive new intercontinental ballistic missile, in an action that leader Kim Jong Un said was designed to demonstrate the power of its nuclear force and prevent any US military movement.

It was North Korea’s first full ICBM test with nuclear weapons since 2017, and flight data indicated the missile flew higher and longer than any of North Korea’s previous tests before crashing into the sea to the west. from Japan.

In a statement, the Brazilian government announced that it “condemns the launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile, carried out on 3/24, by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK)”.
