China: when the snow paralyzes tourists on the Great Wall

Life is back on track in China, and the Covid-19 epidemic (almost) seems like a distant memory. So much so that the inhabitants of the country have already reclaimed the major tourist places of the country. It was also when visiting one of them, the most emblematic in Chinese history, that tourists were surprised by the climatic conditions, says International mail.

A video posted by the South China Morning Post thus shows visitors struggling against snow and ice, clinging to iron railings to move forward as best they can and not to slip. One of the passers-by, visibly tired of his journey, even seems to give up the climb, letting himself descend along a slope of the wall.

“Why did the site remain open? “

According to the Chinese newspaper, the historic site cannot be treated with products intended to melt ice. Hence the question that emerges on social networks: “Why did the tourist site remain open despite the snow?” Who will be responsible in the event of an accident? ”

The Great Wall of China is visited by some 16 million people every year, recalls International mail. The site has also been listed as a World Heritage Site since 1987.
