The Chinese space agency CNSA has published the first scientific images received from the Red Planet from the first Chinese Mars rover, Zhuzhong.

Among the photos is an impressive panorama of the landing site, taken with a camera attached to the mast of the rover.

Also included is a shot of the landing platform and a fun “group travel selfie” of the rover with the platform. The last picture was taken using a separate rover camera, installed 10 meters from the “tourists” – the rover rode off the platform, set the camera and returned to the platform.

Recall that the automatic Chinese interplanetary station Tianwen-1 was launched on July 23, 2020 using a heavy launch vehicle “Changzheng-5”.

On May 15, 2021, at 1 am Beijing time, the Tianwen-1 probe entered Mars orbit, and already at 7:18 am the descent module with the Zhurong rover successfully landed on the surface of the Red Planet on the Utopia Plain.
