Chinese GWM will install 100 charging points for electric vehicles in SP

The Chinese automaker Great Wall Motors (GWM) will install 100 free charging points for electric and hybrid vehicles in the main cities of São Paulo.

The project is part of the R$ 10 billion investment that the company recently announced for the State and was revealed at an event last Wednesday (16) with Governor João Doria (PSDB)

GWM’s investments will be divided into two phases, with an initial investment of R$ 4 billion in a unit that belonged to Mercedes-Benz in Iracemápolis (SP).

This amount includes the adaptation of the unit and the development of local suppliers so that cars manufactured in Brazil have a nationalization rate of 60%.

The factory will assemble 100% electrified SUVs and pickup trucks and the installed capacity will be 100,000 vehicles per year.

To create an electrification ecosystem, charging equipment will be mounted at GWM points of sale and services and in high-traffic locations such as parking lots, shopping malls and supermarkets.
The information is from the newspaper. The State of São Paulo.
