Chinese leader vows “proactive” fiscal, “prudent” monetary policy

The Politburo of the Communist Party of China said the country will have a “proactive” fiscal policy and that monetary policy will be “prudent” in order to ensure “steady economic progress”.

The statement was conveyed by the state news agency Xinhua, which reported on a Politburo meeting held on Tuesday (6) and led by the country’s president, Xi Jinping.

The country’s command states that it is attentive to guaranteeing stable growth, with employment and constant prices.

He also says that policies in various spheres must be better coordinated, while the policy against covid-19 “will be optimized to have synergy for high-quality development”.

The text from the state agency says that there will still be efforts to expand domestic demand.

The meeting also emphasized the need to strengthen the resilience of industrial chains and production chains, strengthening openness at a high level and expanding efforts to attract and utilize foreign investment.
