In August, Xiaomi introduced its best smartphone of the Redmi series – K50 Ultra (Extreme Edition), the main feature of which was a screen with a resolution of 1.5K. According to the manufacturer, such a display turned out to be the golden mean between standard Full HD and 2K displays. Now reputable insider Ice Univerce has revealed that other Chinese manufacturers will follow Xiaomi’s example in 2023, while Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S23 and S23+ will remain with a regular 1080p screen.
According to Xiaomi’s presentation, the 1.5K display is almost as economical as a Full HD screen, but with about the same pixel density as a 2K matrix. In addition, a 1.5K display is clearly cheaper than a 2K screen – the total cost of a smartphone will be lower.
